The fourth Test between India and England is being played at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium in Ranchi and India is in a strong position. However, during the match, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma asked his teammates to use their heads before taking a DRS against the England skipper Ben Stokes for an LBW appeal. Rohit Sharma’s hilarious one-liner asking his teammates to use their heads could be heard on the stump mic.
Rohit Sharma’s bittersweet brawl with the DRS carried on during the third day’s play of the fourth Test where he hesitantly took a DRS against Ben Stokes over an LBW appeal which was deemed not out by the umpire. Ben Stokes was declared not out as the DRS showed the umpire’s call which left Ben Stokes with a wry smile as he was saved by the umpire’s call; the same rule he was criticising after the third Test. Rohit Sharma during the decision to take the DRS asked his teammates for input.
Rohit Sharma has always been a funny person on the field and his antics and comments have always left the fans and commentators in splits. Something similar happened while he took the DRS for the LBW appeal made for Ben Stokes’ wicket. He took the DRS half-heartedly after a few seconds and the DRS showed the ball pitching in the leg stump line but it was the umpire’s call and as a result, Ben Stokes was declared not out. However, he was later clean-bowled by Kuldeep Yadav.
Rohit Sharma was caught by the stump mic saying, “Kuch seconds baaki hain, sab log dimaag lagao (Only a few seconds left, put your heads together).”Dinesh Karthik quickly translated the Hindi words to English saying “We now know how DRS conversations carry out,” while fellow veteran wicketkeeper-batter Deep Dasgupta couldn’t control his laughter as the broadcasters replayed that video again.

England won the toss and elected to bat first after which they scored 353 in the first innings laying back on an unbeaten 122 from Joe Root who smashed his 31st Test century after having a disastrous first three Tests in the series. India was bundled for 207 in the first innings as Shoaib Bashir took his first fifer recording figures of 5/119. Dhruv Jurel was the star for India with the bat as he scored 90 off 149 balls. Apart from Jurel, Yashasvi Jaiswal was also brilliant as he scored 73 off 118 balls in the first innings.
England is struggling currently as they have lost eight wickets under 150 as Kuldeep Yadav completed his four-fer and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets in the innings. India is aiming to seal the series by winning the fourth Test match in Ranchi and completing their 17th consecutive Test series win at home. They have not lost a Test series at home since 2012 and would like to continue their unbeaten streak of winning at home in Test matches.
