Several Indian stars have gained big in the latest ICC Rankings after impressing in the recently-concluded three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Joe Root has claimed the number 1 spot in the ICC Test Batsmen rankings.

Team India cleanly swept the series to start the journey under new captain Suryakumar Yadav on a perfect note. The Men in Blue won the first game by 43 runs before winning the second game by 7 wickets (DLS method). The third game was tied before India won the Super Over to clinch a thrilling win over the hosts.

Several Indian players impressed with bat and ball during the series and have been rewarded with a big jump in the ICC T20Is rankings. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 80 runs in three games, has jumped two spots to fourth while Shubman Gill is up 16 places to 21st after scoring 73 runs.
