Jaylen Brown hits out at Nike over Giannis Antetokounmpo ‘childish’ post on X

The fallout from the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks game last weekend is still ongoing.

Despite a big improvement on their earlier defeat to the Knicks, an improved defeat from the Milwaukee Bucks was not enough to beat the Boston Celtics.

The performance at least inspired the Bucks as a catalyst for two more wins, victorious against the Raptors and the Pistons this past week.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a stunning 59 points against the Pistons, while he still seems to have left one Celtics opponent rattled.

During the Bucks and Celtics game, there was a brief interaction between star players Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jaylen Brown.

Antetokounmpo offered Brown his hand, before pulling it away, smirking, leaving the Celtics star grasping at thin air.

There was also a coming together between the two players, with Brown caught by Antetokounmpo’s elbow.

Asked about the incident after the game, Jaylen Brown told reporters he was not impressed and slammed his opponent.

He blasted: “Giannis is a child. I’m just focused on helping my team get a win. And that’s what we did tonight.”

Boston won the game 113-107, having the last laugh, as he was keen to point out.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s big performance against Detroit was his biggest of the season, a staggering 59 points, and his teammates were able to step up too, with some assistance from Doc Rivers.

Nike posted on X, in a dig at Brown’s comments: “Nothing childish about ’em. 59 for the Greek freak,” in reference to the Bucks’ star.

Brown was not impressed, taking time out of his day to have a pop back, “Yall got weird energy”, he posted in response to the Nike Basketball account.

The Celtics have beaten the Bucks twice this season so far, and you can expect some hostility when the improving Milwaukee side head to TD Garden next.

The two teams face off in early December, and all eyes will be on Brown and Antetokounmpo.
