Creating a trade for LA Lakers to get 18.2 PPG scorer, along with talented big man in double deal

The Los Angeles Lakers would further bolster their roster with this hypothetical trade with the Utah Jazz.

After going on a small winning streak and climbing the ranks in the Western Conference standings, the LA Lakers once again find themselves in a slump.

Following their recent loss at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs, the Purple and Gold are now on a three-game losing streak.

Keeping the Lakers’ current form in mind, NBA Analysis Network proposes a trade with Western rivals to improve their roster ahead of the Feb. 06, 2025 NBA Trade Deadline.

There is no doubt that the Purple and Gold are in need of a talented scorer and an excellent starting caliber center. The above-mentioned hypothetical trade solves both of their issues.

Moreover, with LeBron James recently dropping subtle hints about the team’s roster, it’s high time for the organization to indulge in another trade.

Sexton would fit perfectly in the starting lineup and he could be the third or fourth scoring option on the team. He is currently averaging 18.2 points per game on the struggling Jazz.

On the other hand, Kessler is a traditional center, just what the Lakers need to give Anthony Davis some breathing room.

Proposed Los Angeles Lakers depth chart

Starting Five Bench
Collin Sexton Dalton Knecht
Austin Reaves Shake Milton
LeBron James Dorian Finney-Smith
Anthony Davis Rui Hachimura
Walker Kessler Jaxson Hayes

Since losing the dynamic duo of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, the Jazz have continued to plummet in the West standings.

It’s high time for the organization to embrace a full-blown rebuilding process. Getting rid of Sexton and Wessler while acquiring a draft pick from the LA Lakers will help them push in that direction.

After all, they are currently the 14th seed in the conference with a 10-28 record this season. It’s safe to assume that they will likely miss the playoffs for a third straight season.

Proposed Utah Jazz depth chart

Starting Five Bench
Isaiah Collier Gabe Vincent
Jordan Clarkson Max Christie
Lauri Markannen Micah Porter
John Collins Cody Williams
Drew Eubanks Kyle Filipowski
