Bronny James could have another job if he wanted, he wants to play for the Lakers, says LeBron

LeBron James is ready for Bronny James to take up another job if he loses interest in playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.

For years, LeBron James has openly talked about his lifelong dream of sharing the court with his eldest son, Bronny James.

Well, ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season, LBJ’s dream became a reality when the LA Lakers drafted Bronny with the No. 55 overall pick in the draft.

There is no doubt that Bronny is not even close to the level of his father on the court, the kid is still an utmost professional.

At 20 years old, James Jr. still has a long way to go before he can even become a role player for the Lakers. While some say it was LeBron who harmed Bronny’s career, others believe the 20-year-old should have spent more time in college.

Right now, Bronny is slowly honing his skills in the G League. Meanwhile, his father spoke highly of him during a recent episode of the New Heights show via YouTube.

“I didn’t have to deal with my father being this ______ guy that’s on the pedestal. I have to deal with that. Bronny has to deal with all of that. And If you ever meet Bronny then you’ll realize, you’ll be like, I’m such an idiot to look down on him or not want him to do great,” James said.

He added: “He is the most chill, easy fun kid in the world. He goes to work, he goes home, he takes care of his body, he plays his video games, he reads a little bit, and then he comes back and does the same thing and he is like the best big brother that his little brother and little sister could ever have.”

It goes without saying that LeBron is proud of what his son has become. Even if the former USC Trojans star is struggling to make a name for himself in the NBA.

Despite not putting up huge numbers, Bronny is still profitable for the Lakers. But even if the rookie decides to call it quits on his NBA journey, LeBron has another career path open for his son.

“He could do whatever he wants to do. Like if he wants to be the CEO of my company, he could be that. I’ll give that to start teaching him right now to be that if you want to,” James added.

“But he’s like, ‘This is my career. This is my goal and this is my aspiration and I want to play ball. This is something that I love.’ And I love that kid. He’s awesome,” the King concluded.

Playing in the biggest basketball league in the world is not everyone’s cup of tea. Along with the physical gift, having the motivation to play ball is extremely important.

So far, Bronny has that fire in him, but in case it ever runs out, he can always take the corporate route in James’ company.
