Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick gives Miami Heat star his flowers with Steph Curry comparison.
The LA Lakers snapped their three-game losing streak following a dominant win over the Miami Heat in their recent matchup.
In a 117-108 win, six Lakers players finished the game with double-digit scoring, including a double-double performance by Anthony Davis.
On the other hand, it was a Tyler Herro show for the struggling Heat. Herro finished the night with a game-high 34 points scoring effort.
With Jimmy Butler’s one foot outside the door, Herro has put the team on his back. The 24-year-old guard is on his way to the first NBA All-Star selection of his career.
Even Lakers head coach JJ Redick couldn’t help but shower Herro with immense praise during the postgame conference, dropping a Stephen Curry comparison.
“First of all, [I] saw a recent press conference from Spo [Erik Spoelstra] where he described him as a player and he made a reference, ‘He reminds me of a certain other player. I’m just saying.’ We all recognized he was talking about Steph [Curry],” Redick said.
“I told our team at he pregame meeting, you got to treat this guy like Steph Curry. That’s how he is playing right now. He’s playing at such a high level. … He’s become just a real offensive weapon,” he added.
To be honest, Herro is indeed having an excellent stretch right now. Even against the Lakers, Herro was unstoppable from the three-point line as he shot 58.3% from the three-point line.

Seconds after making the Herro-Curry comparison, Redick clarified his statement to avoid any miscommunication when his quote goes viral on social media.
“Just to be clear, as I know how this works. Steph Curry to me is clearly one of the greatest players of all time,” Redick continued.
“I’m not saying Tyler Herro is Steph Curry. What I’m saying is Tyler Herro plays like a young Steph Curry,” the Lakers head coach concluded.
Either way, getting compared to the Baby-Faced Assassin is no small deal. Now it’s up to Herro to maintain his current form and possibly become the next face of the Heat.
