The Dallas Mavericks have added to their roster, and waived one of their two-way players.
The injury-hit Dallas Mavericks have made a tweak to their roster, waiving guard Jazian Gortman.
Gortman has played in 16 games this season averaging just 3.6 minutes per game. He was on a two-way deal with the team’s G League affiliate Texas Legends.
He has been waived to make place for the Mavericks’ newest two-way player, center Kylor Kelley.
Kylor Kelley went undrafted out of Oregon State in 2020 and has bounced around various G League teams since. He has also played in the UK, Denmark and Canada.
The 7ft center had most recently been with the South Bay Lakers, who waived him just over a week ago.
The Mavericks are dealing with a spate of injuries, with Dereck Lively suffering a stress fracture to his foot that will keep him out around a month.
Kylor Kelley has signed a two-way deal, enabling the Mavs to mix him into their roster when they need him.
ESPN’s Tim Macmahon says he has been told re Kelley: “His skill set fits perfectly in Dallas. He’s a lob guy and shot blocker.”

Kylor Kelley has spent the past season playing alongside Bronny James for the LA Lakers – who recently put up a career-high 31 points.
They starred alongside each other in the G League winter showcase in Orlando back in December, where they put up 34 points combined, Kelley 18 and Bronny 16.
Kelley actually played for the LA Lakers during pre-season, scoring four points and registering one assist in six minutes of playing time against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
During his time at Oregon, Kelley set a record for blocks, and this has transferred to his time in the G League.
He has been posting high numbers all season and per G League data, he registered eight blocks in a single game on the South Bay Lakers.
Kelley has averaged 9.2 points per game this season, including one 19 point showing.
Kelley spent the 2023-24 with the Maine Celtics, and was named on the G League All Defensive Team.
During the season he set a franchise record for blocks with 105, averaging 2.9 per game, the most in the entire G League.
While a disappointment not to get the call up to the LA Lakers, who are in need of center, this is a fresh start as a two-way player the Dallas Mavericks can take a look at, as the 27-year-old seeks to make his own long awaited NBA debut.
