Manchester United will be open to Garnacho and Mainoo sales this summer

Manchester United will be ready to listen to offers for Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo at the end of the season, according to the Guardian.

United have had two significant departures during the January transfer window, but as both Antony (Real Betis) and Marcus Rashford (Aston Villa) left only on loan, no incoming funds were secured and the 20-time English champions were unable to sign a replacement for either, or for Lisandro Martinez, whose ACL injury is set to keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

Villa are believed to have the option to turn the Rashford loan into a permanent transfer in the summer for £40 million, and quite apart from such a resolution freeing up significant funds in terms of wages, the whole fee would be regarded as profit under the Profitability and Sustainability Rules due to Rashford being a home-grown talent.

The same applies to Garnacho, who was an object of strong interest for Napoli during the January window, and Mainoo, who shouldn’t be shot of suitors either.
