LA Lakers fans all in agreement after Anthony Davis’ injury update, ‘punished’ point is made

The rest of the NBA season became a must-watch the moment Luka Doncic got traded for Anthony Davis by the Dallas Mavericks but a wrench has been thrown in.

Anthony Davis started hot off the blocks for the Dallas Mavericks but an injury forced him off the court soon after on his debut for the Dallas Mavericks.

Davis insisted after the game that the issue was not serious and he should be back soon but the diagnosis and developments since then haven’t been kind to him and the Mavs fans.

The Los Angeles Lakers face the Mavs on February 25 in what had become a date to be circled on the calendar. Fans might not get the full experience anymore.

Davis has historically been an injury-prone player so trading for him was always going to be risky but this is the Mavs’ worst nightmare.

Shams Charania reports that Davis has an adductor strain which could see him miss up to a month, thereby making it likely that he misses the Feb 25 clash.

That would have been Davis’ first game back in Los Angeles and he would’ve been given a warm welcome but without him and up against a motivated Luka Doncic, they look like lambs for slaughter in that game.

The Mavs are flirting with falling out of the playoff positions altogether with a difficult schedule coming up, while the Lakers have found their groove and will get Doncic back soon.

After Davis’ latest injury update, the Lakers fans had nothing to say but make a ‘punished’ and ‘cursed’ point.

The Lakers fan saw the best and the worst of Davis during his time in Los Angeles but it’s a trade they’d make any day of the week since they won a championship with him and LeBron James.

Unfortunately for Mavs fans, they had only just begun to see his best when the worst struck.

“Damn bro, the Mavs can’t catch a break, they might be cursed after trading Luka,” said one as another agreed, “They being punished for trading Luka.”

“No takebacks as you all did with Dalton Knecht,” said a third, referencing the nixed Mark Williams trade by the Lakers.

A fourth said: “Mavs fans got the whole Anthony Davis experience in one game, WE WON THE TRADE!”.

“Dude is like a used, scratched-up copy of The Departed, when it plays, it’s amazing…,” said another while Mavs GM Nico Harrison caught strays too.

“Mavs fans gonna hunt Nico Harrison at this point,” said one as another smelled a conspiracy, “They rushed him back because of the bad publicity of the trade.”

That conspiracy might gain strength if Davis magically reappears to play against the Lakers on Feb 25. For now, the trade that looked lopsided at the time is turning into a robbery.
