LeBron James’ ex-LA Lakers teammate has doubts over his defense vs Rockets, ‘I want to point out…’

LeBron James was absolutely sensational on the defensive end against the Rockets, but one former Lakers teammate was not impressed.

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers got a crucial win over the Houston Rockets on Monday night. Playing against the second seed, the Lakers made a chink in their armor heading into the final stretch.

James had a decent performance, but not offensively. He had just 16 points and eight rebounds. But his work on the defensive end was stellar, with two blocks and two steals to help the Lakers win.

This was the story across the board. Redick praised the Lakers for their defensive outing, compensating for their offense.

Danny Green spoke about LeBron James’ performance against the Houston Rockets. While Green thought LeBron did well, he did have some questions about them.

James is 40 years old and still playing some incredible defense. But Green doesn’t feel he has enough to play at the center position or guard that position at his age in the playoffs for the Lakers.

“I want to point out the fact that the age of 40, I don’t know if he can play the five position at the age of 40 for a seven game series. I do like what he what he did last night.”

“But they need to rely on their offense, right? They need the big three to play well. They need to score. They need their bench. They need all hands on deck for them to have a chance against teams like OKC against Houston.”

“Houston shot poorly in that first quarter and for most of the game. I don’t think they’ll do that for a seven-game series.”

The Los Angeles Lakers, for all their talent, lack the most important thing any championship team needs – consistency. The Lakers fail to replicate strong performances on a regular basis.

There has been some chatter about JJ Redick still figuring things out offensively between James, Austin Reaves, and Luka Doncic.

It can be difficult to figure these things out in the middle of the season. Especially as James is still recovering his recent injury.

The Lakers have seven games left to start putting the pieces together. The playoffs will be a grueling experience for them if they don’t.
