NBA analyst Nick Wright has issued a scathing criticism of a Houston Rockets player ahead of their first-round playoff matchup against the Golden State Warriors.
Wright believes this particular player has the potential to make the Warriors suffer—potentially in harmful ways.
The subject of Wright’s harsh assessment is none other than Dillon Brooks, whom the analyst didn’t hesitate to label as a serious threat to player safety.
“I think he’s a dirty, dangerous player,” Wright declared emphatically on his What’s Wright Show.
“Dillon Brooks will try to undercut somebody. Dillon Brooks will do things that put other guys in jeopardy,” he added with evident concern.
Brooks has a long history of tension with the Warriors organisation, with conflicts ranging from on-court confrontations to social media feuds dating back to his days with the Memphis Grizzlies.
His contentious relationships with current Warriors forward Draymond Green and former Golden State sharpshooter Klay Thompson are well-documented.
Given this backdrop, Wright anticipates the Brooks-Green matchup to be particularly physical and potentially volatile.
“And Draymond just going to play incredibly physical on top,” he predicted, suggesting an inevitable collision course between two of the league’s most combative players.
Wright believes the Rockets might deliberately employ a more physical approach as their strategic advantage in this first-round series.
Houston has already demonstrated their defensive capability against Golden State during the regular season, effectively neutralizing the Warriors’ high-powered offense on multiple occasions.
Most impressively, the Rockets managed to hold Stephen Curry to just three points in their most recent encounter—an extraordinary accomplishment against one of the greatest shooters in NBA history.
With Brooks serving as the defensive agitator and the Rockets’ overall commitment to physical play, this first-round matchup could prove far more challenging for the Warriors than their seeding might suggest.
With the teams gearing up for battle, everyone’s got their eyes on Brooks. People are wondering if his playing style, which some might find controversial, is on the edge of being dangerous.
