Jaylen Brown calls out Celtics teammates in aftermath of Jayson Tatum injury, ‘to be frank…’

Jaylen Brown believes his Celtics teammates stopped playing hard against the Knicks, and wants them to stop focusing on Jayson Tatum.

The Boston Celtics lost a crucial Game 4 to the New York Knicks. This loss now means the Celtics are down 3-1 and on the brink of elimination.

The big talking point from tonight’s game was the injury to Jayson Tatum. The All-Star had to be helped off the court after sustaining a very serious injury.

Several fans expressed their concern for Jayson Tatum as soon as the injury occurred. Given how rough the injury looked, they fear he could be out for a long time.

Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla gave a crucial update about Jayson Tatum after the game. But Jaylen Brown had smoke for his other teammates after a disappointing loss.

Speaking after the game, Jaylen Brown detailed what the goal for the Celtics is in the remaining games of the series. With Jayson Tatum out, the Celtics need his leadership.

He explained that the Celtics must come out of the blocks swinging in Game 5 without Tatum on the court for them.

Brown then called out his fellow Celtics teammates for being atrocious on the defensive end, long before Tatum got hurt.

“Get ready for the next one. Get ready to fight, get ready to come out on our home floor and do what we need to do. That’s the goal, still the goal.”

“We got enough in this locker room. I believe in my guys. Tonight, defensively, it was terrible, to be frank. No resistance.”

“We were just concerned. Our offense was great offense was fine. We made a lot of shots. But just no resistance on defense.”

Later in his press conference, Jaylen Brown admitted the Celtics are more concerned about Jayson Tatum than the loss. But he urged his team to take the night, and then shift focus to Game 5.

“Everybody is concerned with Jayson. I’m not sure how bad it is. It didn’t look great. But I think everybody is more concerned with that. Obviously the loss is huge.”

“But we gotta get ready for Game 5. So, we’ll take the night, pick our heads up tomorrow, and put together a game plan to come out on their home floor to keep the series alive.”

Brown recently said he does things better than Jayson Tatum and the rest of the Celtics. Now is the time for him to back his words and put on the kind of performance that earned him last year’s Finals MVP title.
