UFC Vegas 107 has taken a hit.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Jeremiah Wells is out of his scheduled matchup with Andreas Gustafsson on the May 31 fight card at the UFC APEX for undisclosed reasons. Octagon Update was first to report the news.
The promotion is searching for an opponent for Gustafsson.
Wells was set to compete for the first time in 15 months. After winning his first four promotional bouts, the 38-year-old has last two straight bouts — a submission loss to Carlston Harris and a split decision defeat to Max Griffin at UFC Vegas 86 in February 2024.
Gustafsson is slated to make his UFC debut on the card after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in August following a second-round knockout win over Pat Pytlik. The 34-year-old is currently riding a three-fight win streak.
UFC Vegas 107 is headlined by a pivotal women’s flyweight contest between Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber. Check out the updated card below.
