Jeff Teague names the player who was snubbed in All-NBA voting after having better season than Stephen Curry

The three All-NBA teams were announced recently, and Stephen Curry made the Second Team after another impressive season.

Curry averaged 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.0 assists in 70 games as the Golden State Warriors finished 7th in the Western Conference with a 48-34 record.

The 37-year-old has now made the All-NBA Second Team five times, the First Team four times, and the Third Team twice in his illustrious career.

Former NBA player Jeff Teague thinks he should have one less Second Team appearance because another player was better in the 2024-25 season.

Curry’s season was arguably more impressive than Cade Cunningham’s because it was his 16th in the NBA, but that shouldn’t matter in All-NBA voting.

It should be as simple as who played better, to which the answer is Cunningham. He put up 26.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 9.1 assists.

Teague was understandably baffled by the decision to reward Curry with a spot on the Second Team ahead of the Detroit Pistons guard.

“I don’t like it,” Teague explained. “I don’t like that Steph, shoutout to him and James Harden, ’09 draft, but I think Cade Cunningham should’ve been on the second team over Steph Curry.

“Cade Cunningham had better stats. I think he had a better year than Steph. Steph was 24, 4, and 6, still quality basketball, but I think he was probably Third Team.”

Teague was also intrigued by two other All-NBA selections, Jalen Williams and James Harden. The pair made the Third Team alongside Cunningham, Tyrese Haliburton, and Karl-Anthony Towns.

“I’m very shocked that Jalen Williams and James Harden made it. I didn’t see it coming,” he added. “Shoutout to [Harden] though. He did have a good year.

“I was just surprised. I’m sure there was somebody else who probably could have made it. Pascal [Siakam] could have made it.

“But that’s cool. I’ll take James Harden for this team. Shoutout to James, too. In year 16 or 17, whatever it is, he’s still ticking along.

Harden, like Curry and Teague, was drafted in 2009, so his All-NBA selection demonstrates incredible longevity.
