Middleweight veterans Michal Oleksiejczuk and Gerald Meerschaert are set for UFC 319, MMA Fighting confirmed after Oleksiejczuk’s team Fighting Nerds announced the bout on social media.
The pay-per-view card takes place at United Center in Chicago on Aug. 16.
Oleksiejczuk (20-9, 1 NC) attempts to keep the momentum going after snapping a three-fight losing skid with a first-round knockout over Sedriques Dumas in April, Oleksiejczuk’s first octagon appearance since joining the Sao Paulo team.
The Polish talent started his UFC career as a light heavyweight and has gone 4-4 since cutting down to 185 pounds. All of his middleweight wins have come via first-round knockout against Sam Alvey, Cody Brundage, Chidi Njokuani and Dumas.
Meerschaert (37-19) looks to rebound from back-to-back defeats to Reinier de Ridder and Brad Tavares, which dropped his promotional record to 12-11.
The 37-year-old veteran holds the record for most stoppages in UFC middleweight history at 12, with a 100 percent finishing rate inside the octagon that includes 11 submissions and one knockout. Meerschaert’s list of victims include Bryan Barberena, Edmen Shahbazyan and Bruno Silva.
UFC 319 is headlined by middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis defending his title against the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev.
