While this summer’s Club World Cup might steal plenty of the midweek headlines, we have a stacked MLS schedule on the cards throughout the early hours of Thursday.
With America’s elite marking their respective returns from the June interval, we have MLS showdowns on the cards in midweek.
For those of you looking to stick on a midweek flutter, we have taken a look at some of the most appealing MLS betting markets that are available.
00:30 Columbus Crew vs Atlanta United
Managing to make a welcomed return to winning ways last time out as they collected a 2-1 victory at home against Vancouver, Columbus will be looking to use that performance as a platform to build on. Drawing a line under their six-match winless rut a fortnight ago, Wilfried Nancy’s side are sat firmly in the driving seat to claim another play-off ticket this season. Knowing that they can leap into silver medal position here, the former Montreal boss will be excited by his side’s success on home soil. Getting May underway with an action-packed 4-2 victory against Charlotte, Columbus have lost just one of their 11 matchups in Ohio so far this calendar year. Finding a clinical edge in the final third, it should also be highlighted that the Black and Gold have notched at least a pair of goals in four of their last five appearances in front of their own supporters.
Despite signing off May with consecutive MLS victories, it appears that might have just been a minor boost for Atlanta. Last seen prior to the June interval putting in a nightmare display as they slumped to a 4-0 drumming at the hands of New York City, the Five Stripes find themselves scrapping it out at the foot of the Eastern Conference standings. Already seeking a miracle in the race to book another play-off ticket, the one-time Celtic boss has a tremendous amount of pressure on his shoulders. Mustering just a single victory from any of their previous 12 consecutive appearances – a run that stems all the way back to March 29th – Atlanta have also gained a reputation for their glaring issues on the road. Including a 2-1 loss against Chicago last month, Deila’s men have collected just two points from any of their previous eight straight showdowns away from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

00:30 Toronto FC vs New York Red Bulls
Eventually falling to a 2-1 loss away at Austin last time out, New York are seeking an immediate response in the early hours of Thursday. Nevertheless, opening the midweek fixtures sat just a single point adrift of breaking into the top-seven, Sandro Schwarz’s side should be smelling a golden opportunity here. Extending on their US Open Cup adventure on May 22nd as they edged past Dallas, the former Hertha Berlin boss has seen his squad win four of their previous five appearances across all competitions. Signing off May with a stellar 4-2 victory against Charlotte, the Red Bulls will be excited by a dominant record against Thursday’s hosts. Landing a 2-1 wine when they last met Toronto back in March, they have won each of their previous four consecutive MLS meetings by an aggregate score of 12-2. It should also be noted, New York have not suffered a single top-flight defeat against the Reds since way back in July 2021.
Enduring what has been another public MLS crisis this season, Toronto have once again come under a tremendous amount of scrutiny. Last seen putting in another downbeat display as they slumped to a 2-0 defeat at home against Charlotte, Robin Fraser’s side are scrapping it out at the foot of the Eastern Conference standings. Signing off May with consecutive 2-1 losses against Philadelphia and Nashville, Thursday’s hosts have lost their last three MLS appearances by an aggregate score of 6-2. Likewise, along with losing four of their previous five outings, Toronto have also gained an unwanted reputation for their glaring struggles at BMO Field. Along with losing all of their last four straight matchups in Ontario, the Reds have also lost seven of their previous eight home fixtures across all competitions – a run that stems back to a 0-0 stalemate against Minnesota on April 12th. Hit with a 4-1 drumming when they welcomed New York to town last season, Fraser’s side look set for another stern examination.
