With the MLS action rolling onto Sunday, we have another stacked schedule from across both the Eastern and Western Conferences.
As eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi looks to extend on his record-breaking romp, we have some heavyweight MLS showdowns in the early hours of Sunday.
For those of you looking to stick on a weekend flutter, we have taken a look at some of the most eye-catching MLS betting tips.
00:30 Philadelphia Union vs Colorado Rapids
While Philadelphia might have endured a public MLS nightmare last season as they spent the whole of the 2024 campaign scrapping it out at the foot of the Eastern Conference standings, Sunday’s hosts have come roaring back this time around. Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat in bronze medal position, Bradley Carnell’s men are cruising their way to a play-off return this year. Mustering seven points from their previous three MLS appearances, the Union have suffered just a pair of defeats from any of their previous 18 appearances across all competitions – a purple patch that stems all the way back to April 13th. Extending on their US Open Cup adventure back on May 22nd as they stormed their way to a 4-1 victory against USL outfit Pittsburgh, Philadelphia will certainly be fancying their chances of making another statement this weekend.
Mounting an astonishing second-half comeback away at Seattle last week as they eventually snatched a thrilling 3-3 stalemate, Colorado will be looking to use that dramatic comeback as a platform to build on. However, despite landing a shock 3-0 romp against Vancouver earlier in the month, the Rapids are only just clinging onto their spot in the top-seven. Mustering just a pair of wins from their previous nine straight appearances, Chris Armas’ side have drastically failed to find any kind of form on their travels. Including a 3-0 drumming against Los Angeles on July 10th, Colorado have failed to win any of their last eight showdowns away from Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. It should also be highlighted, Sunday’s guests have shipped at least a pair of goals in all of those eight consecutive away fixtures.

03:30 Vancouver Whitecaps vs Sporting Kansas City
While Vancouver might have notched just a single MLS victory since returning from the summer break, Sunday’s hosts have enjoyed a real MLS flurry this season. Cementing their spot as the Western Conference’s ultimate surprise package, the Whitecaps open this weekend’s fixtures sat in silver medal position and just one-point adrift of climbing to the top of the table. Cruising their way to a play-off ticket, Jesper Sorensen’s side will be looking to make another statement here. Laying down a marker on July 17th as they stormed their way to a 3-0 romp away at Houston, Vancouver will also be excited by their largely rugged success on home soil. Despite signing off June with an action-packed 5-3 defeat against San Diego, that is the only loss that Sorensen’s side have suffered in British Colombia from their previous 10 outings across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to March 23rd.
Although Sporting Kansas might have got July underway with a 2-1 victory against Colorado, it is fair to say that Sunday’s guests have largely struggled to find any real fluidity this season. Missing out on what they billed as a potential opportunity last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate at home against New York City, the Wizards have failed to register consecutive MLS victories since opening the 2025 campaign. Scrapping it out at the foot of the Western Conference table, Sporting face a real uphill battle in the race to book a play-off spot. Slumping to a frantic 3-2 loss against Seattle earlier in the month, interim boss Kerry Zavagnin will be bracing himself for another stern examination here. It should also be noted, along with suffering back-to-back 2-1 defeats against Vancouver, Kansas have mustered just a sole win from any of their last six meetings against Sunday’s hosts.
