According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are ready to enter the race for Benjamin Sesko.
The Slovenian striker is already a target for Newcastle, who are currently looking at him as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak, and he’s already received a proposal of personal terms from the Magpies. Club-to-club negotiations will begin if he accepts that offer, but United could complicate the situation if they make a strong effort to sign Sesko as well.
Having lost the race for Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool and looking at the prospect of losing Isak to the same rival as well, Newcastle’s need is certainly more desperate than that of United, who have already brought in Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. Also, Newcastle have Champions League football next season to offer, while United won’t be playing in Europe at all.
Nonetheless, United have now approached Sesko’s camp to learn his demands, so there a decision for the 22-year-old striker to make.
🚨 Key week for Benjamin Šeško’s future as Manchester United also approached his camp to ask for deal conditions.
Newcastle presented their project to Šeško last week, ready to bid if player accepts.
Šeško, expected to decide his future soon.
