Kevin Garnett enjoyed an amazing NBA career filled with numerous achievements throughout his legendary tenure.
His accolades include one MVP title, one championship, 15 All-Star selections, nine All-NBA honors, and one Defensive Player of the Year award.
Beyond individual awards, Kevin Garnett holds a unique record as the only player in NBA history to lead a franchise in all five major statistical categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.
He achieved this remarkable feat with the Minnesota Timberwolves during his time there from 1995-2007–before joining the Boston Celtics—and return in 2015-2016.
Garnett led Minnesota with 19,210 points, 10,718 rebounds, 4,216 assists, 1,315 steals, and 1,590 blocks.
However, this special record could be broken as soon as next season by Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Giannis requires only 82 steals to lead the Bucks in that final statistical category, making him the second player ever to accomplish this feat. This milestone appears very achievable within one season given his track record.
Throughout his 12-year career, Giannis has recorded more than 82 steals in a season at least five times. His consistent defensive activity makes reaching this threshold realistic for next season.
Those 82 steals would allow Giannis to surpass Quinn Buckner’s franchise record of 1,042 steals with Milwaukee. Buckner currently holds the Bucks’ all-time steals record that Giannis is approaching.
Through the end of last season, Giannis has accumulated 20,538 points, 8,530 rebounds, 4,288 assists, and 1,064 blocks for Milwaukee. He already leads the franchise in all four categories by substantial margins.

Interestingly, Giannis might not break this record if he decides to leave Milwaukee, since trade rumors have intensified throughout the summer. His potential departure would end his pursuit of Garnett’s unique achievement.
Recently, the Warriors reportedly showed interest in bringing him to the Bay Area. His decision will determine if he gets the opportunity to join Garnett in this exclusive category.
If Giannis decides to stay in Milwaukee, his energetic playing style that distinguishes him from other superstars could help him break Garnett’s record next season.
His versatility on both ends of the court allows him to contribute across all statistical categories while maintaining high-level production.
Giannis’s ability to impact winning through multiple statistical areas Also mirrors Garnett’s approach during his Minnesota tenure. Both players demonstrate how versatile superstars can dominate franchise record books.
