A Manchester United player with “a lot of personality” is now in talks with another Premier League club over a summer move, according to an update from journalist Fabrizio Romano.
All change in Man Utd’s attack this summer
The Red Devils fell woefully below expectations last season, so it was clear that huge changes were needed within Ruben Amorim’s squad this summer.
United’s attack has already changed hugely since the end of the campaign, with Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha representing exciting signings in the final third – individuals who should add a lot of end product.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford has sealed a season-long loan move to Barcelona, with it becoming increasingly clear that Amorim doesn’t see a future for him at his boyhood club, and a permanent exit next summer potentially on the cards.
The likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Antony could also all leave United before the new season gets underway, whether that be permanently on loan, and a new update has now dropped regarding one of them.
£40m Man Utd star in talks with Chelsea
According to Romano on X, Manchester United ace Garnacho is now in “talks” with Chelsea, having given them “total priority” this summer.
The £40m-rated Garnacho is clearly a talented young footballer with the potential to reach great heights, with former Barcelona striker Javier Saviola praising him earlier this year.
“He has a lot of personality, he doesn’t give up and he’s always on the ball. He never gives up in one-on-one situations. Now he’s adding goals to his game, something he was lacking a bit before, and he’s appearing closer to the box.”
That said, talent is far from everything as a footballer, and Garnacho’s attitude has come into question at times throughout his career, which may be a reason why United are willing to let him go, as pointed out by @UtdFaithfuls.
Not only that, but Mbeumo and Cunha will surely be arriving as starters in the two wide or No. 10 roles behind the striker, so the Argentine could see his minutes limited at Old Trafford.
Ultimately, there is a risk in the Red Devils allowing Garnacho to join a direct rival, but they need to be ruthless this summer, and if Amorim doesn’t rate him or sees him as problematic, selling him for good money makes perfect sense.
