Watch: India nearly lose Oval Test due to Akash Deep, Dhruv Jurel's horrible blunders on Day 5

England fast bowler Gus Atkinson turned the heat up with a jaw-dropping six off Mohammed Siraj just when India was building pressure after two quick wickets, and that stunned everyone at The Oval on Day 5 of the fifth and final Test match.

Mohammed Siraj bowled a full delivery straight at the stumps that many try to defend, but Atkinson had other plans. The English bowler stepped out boldly, cleared his front leg, and swung his bat like a golf club, sending the ball flying toward wide long-on.

Akash Deep sprinted across the boundary and made a desperate dive, managing to get his hand on the ball, but his effort wasn’t enough. The ball popped out of Akash Deep’s palm and rolled over the rope, as India gifted six painful runs to England at The Oval.

Chris Woakes escapes as Dhruv Jurel misses the stump

In the same over, Chris Woakes got a lifeline, and this time too, Siraj was left disappointed as the wicketkeeper Dhurv Jurel missed the stumping. On the last ball of the 84th over, Siraj bowled a full and wide delivery that was well outside Gus Atkinson’s reach. The batter stretched but failed to make contact.

However, Chris Woakes saw the chance and sprinted for a quick bye. The Indian wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel was quick to collect the ball and made a direct hit at the stumps, but missed. Woakes would have been out if that throw had hit the stumps. Siraj was upset and looked frustrated.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj won the final Test for India, taking the last two wickets against England at The Oval. Despite bowling over 1000 deliveries in the Test series, Siraj’s determination hasn’t dropped one bit, and he bowled every ball with sharp aim and full heart, like a skilled archer hitting the target again and again and getting success.

Mohammed Siraj ends it in style at The Oval

He finished the Test series with 24 wickets. Well, the Indian players rushed towards Siraj in pure joy after Atkinson’s wicket. Dhruv Jurel was the first to reach him, wrapping him in a big hug, while the rest of the team followed. Amidst all the excitement and celebration, Shubman Gill took some moments to acknowledge Chris Woakes’ bravery.

Woakes came out to bat with a badly injured shoulder, using just one hand. His left arm stayed tucked under his sweater while he held the bat in the other, and fans could never forget his courage. After leveling the five-match Test series 2-2, the Indian cricket team took a victory lap around The Oval, greeted with loud cheers from the crowd.

After his match-winning spell at The Oval, Siraj stated, “I was just thinking that I should bowl in the right areas. To be honest, I didn’t think that I would take the (Harry Brook) catch and step on the rope. It was a match-changing moment. Yes, I always believed myself that I would do it for the team.”
