Steph Curry could soon be teammates with his close family member who has a brilliant shooting record in the NBA.
The Golden State Warriors have a roster that still needs acquisitions and a decision is not being made as the team is awaiting the outcome of the Jonathan Kuminga situation.
According to reports, the player declined a two-year $45 million deal and is on the lookout for a contract that will give him a player option, something that is believed to prolong the negotiation.
While the Kuminga conundrum has been the biggest talking point for the Warriors, they are also engaging in talks with other players to strengthen their roster.
One of the players they have been linked with is someone who has a close relationship with franchise star Steph Curry.
The Warriors have agreed deals with the likes of Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton and Gary Payton II to join the team, but they still need more additions to be able to compete.
Seth Curry is believed to be a player on their radar alongside other names like Malcolm Brogdon and Javonte Green.
The younger of the two Curry brothers played for the Charlotte Hornets last season and put up some decent performances for them.
He shot a scintillating 45.6% from three-point range and proved to be a great presence off the bench for the Eastern Conference side.
Having been in the NBA for over a decade, the two brothers have never been on the same team, which is why them pairing up together would be lovely for the family.
The former Duke player averages 43.3% from beyond the arc for his career, which ranks him seventh overall in three-point percentage in NBA history, which is a sensational achievement.
With the exit of Kuminga likely, the Warriors will have to find a way to replace his production, which is going to be tough, but adding shooters like Curry off the bench might work.
He has been in the league long enough to know that minutes will be hard to come by in the Warriors rotation, but Seth will be able to deal with that.
The 34-year-old has been a part of some brilliant teams like the Dallas Mavericks and Brooklyn Nets. While he played fewer minutes, he did his best when given the chance.
Season | Three-Point shooting % |
2024-25 | 45.6% |
2023-24 | 35.2% |
2022-23 | 40.5% |
2021-22 | 42.2% |
2020-21 | 45% |
He will also be a great presence in the locker room, helping youngsters like Moses Moody and Brandin Podziemski develop into valuable NBA players.
Another incentive is finally playing alongside his brother, who is one of the best players in league history.
The two share a great bond, but have never been able to be on the same team. If things finally work out and Seth joins the Warriors, it will certainly be another great moment for the 37-year-old as he would have not only achieved everything in the league, but also played on the same team as his brother.
