Anthony Edwards is always open to using any weapon at his disposal to throw his opponents off their game.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are heading into a new era following the Karl-Anthony Towns trade to the New York Knicks. As expected, the Timberwolves will rely on Anthony Edwards to lead them into a glorious future.
After all, the organization is coming off the heels of a third-seed finish in the Western Conference last season, thanks to Edwards‘ performances. As good as Antman is on the court, he has established himself as a terrific trash-talker too.
Edwards proved it during a preseason matchup between the Timberwolves and the Knicks.
The Knicks have one of the sturdiest rosters in the league, at least on paper. While Jalen Brunson and Towns will most likely lead the team on most nights, they have a talented scorer in Mikal Bridges as well.
Bridges impressed many with his ability to score during his one-and-a-half-season stint with the Brooklyn Nets. However, the 28-year-old guard/forward has made some changes to his jump shot. Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked in his favor so far in the NBA preseason, and Edwards took notice of it.
“Oh. Oh. That _____ done changed his shot, man. Damn,” Edwards said in a leaked clip posted on X (formerly known as Twitter.)
The Knicks boasted a 4-1 record during the NBA preseason. It prepares them well heading into the 2024-25 season. But Bridges has struggled to get it going from the three-point line.
The veteran star has shot just 2-19 from deep, including an embarrassing 0-10 performance vs. the Washington Wizards in the preseason’s final game. As things stand right now, Bridges needs to ensure that he either switches back to his old jump shot or figures out the mechanics early into the new season.

Following a gold-medal run with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Edwards returned to the Timberwolves soaring with confidence. The 2x NBA All-Star will begin his fifth season with the franchise in a couple of days as he remains one of the most exciting players in the league.
While Edwards is currently the cornerstone star of the franchise, he recently hinted at potentially leaving the team in the future. Ant recently parted ways with Towns and claimed he would love the idea of being reunited with his former teammate in the future.
Now, it could be a subtle hint towards KAT’s return to the Timberwolves in the future. However, if the two superstars share the court once again, it will most likely be on a different team.
