Anthony Edwards says Minnesota Timberwolves star is making the game easier for him, he’s finally doing what was asked of him

Anthony Edwards applauds one Minnesota Timberwolves teammate who has elevated his game come playoff time.

After losing the opening game of the second round, the Minnesota Timberwolves have bounced back well against the Golden State Warriors.

Sure, the Dubs are playing without Stephen Curry, but it is still commendable to take a 2-1 lead over a team full of veterans who are rich in postseason experience.

In Game 3, Anthony Edwards went off for 36 points. He also added 4 rebounds and 4 assists to his name. But Ant didn’t forget to give credit to one Timberwolves teammate for his excellent performance.

Julius Randle has gone from a heavily criticized player to an integral member of the Timberwolves in the 2025 NBA playoffs.

Randle showed his growth in Game 3 as he notched a 24-point triple-double in the 102-97 win over the Warriors, per Sofascore. After the game, Edwards heaped huge praise on his teammate.

“He was incredible, man. Finding everybody on cuts. Finding the open guy time after time. Just pushing the pace. That’s what we asked of him, and he’s been doing that at a high level,” Edwards said of Randle.

Randle was often considered one-dimensional with a primary focus on scoring. However, Randle has redefined himself this postseason as he’s impacting the game with his rebounding and playmaking skills as well.

Being the face of the franchise, Edwards is heavily targeted by the defense on most nights. As a result, there have been games where Ant has been underwhelming.

However, when someone like Randle goes off, it allows Edwards to play his natural game. It’s evident from Ant’s postgame admission over Randle’s impact on his game.

“We can’t ask for nothing better, man. He’s been making the game a lot easier for me, so I appreciate having him,” Edwards added.

The only question is whether Randle can continue to impact the game with his scoring, rebounding, and playmaking.

If he can, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Timberwolves quickly wrap up the second-round series and make back-to-back Western Conference Finals appearances in the postseason.
