According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have made a concrete contract offer to Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, and having made initial contact with his representatives, the Catalan club are ahead of Bayern Munich in the race to sign the 28-year-old as a free agent when his contract with the Bundesliga champions expires at the end of the season.
No agreement has been reached as of yet as there are still some wrinkles to be ironed out, but “positive talks” have apparently taken place between Barcelona and Pini Zahavi, the agent who also represents Barca head coach Hansi Flick. Tah himself is believed to have attended the meeting as well.
Come next summer, Tah will have completed a decade of playing for Bayer Leverkusen. In the time since his arrival from Hamburger SV in 2015, he has made a total of 376 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 16 goals and producing 12 assists. He was an important part of the team under Xabi Alonso that won the first-ever Bundesliga title for the club in 2023/24 along with the DFB-Pokal, completing an unbeaten domestic campaign and losing only to Atalanta in the Europa League final.

There are details to fix but positive meeting took place between Deco and Pini Zahavi, same agent as Flick.
