Barcelona set Marc Casado price amid reports of three-club race

According to Catalan outlet Sport, Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado is currently attracting plenty of attention.

Atletico Madrid and Chelsea have been mentioned in that aspect in recent weeks, and now it seems Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race, despite completing the loan transfer of Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich. New Spurs boss Thomas Frank is said to be particularly keen to strengthen the defensive midfield section.

As for Casado, the 21-year-old is valued by the Blaugrana at €30million. Head coach Hansi Flick wants Frenkie de Jong as the main man to pivot his midfield, and Marc Bernal as the first deputy to the experienced Dutchman. He has also made it clear that his squad needs a bit of trimming before the end of the transfer window.

However, Casado would apparently like to remain at the club and fight for his place in Flick’s team, rather than move on in search of more game time.
