Bayern Munich and Liverpool reach Luis Diaz agreement

According to multiple sources, Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Liverpool over the proposed transfer of Luis Diaz. The Bundesliga champions are expected to pay a fee of up to €75million to their Premier League counterparts for the services of the 28-year-old Colombian winger.

Having failed to agree a new deal with Leroy Sane, who has now joined Galatasaray as a free agent, Bayern moved to identify a suitable replacement on the left attacking flank, and Diaz has always been a top target in that respect. Said to be frustrated by Liverpool’s hesitation to improve his personal terms at Anfield, Diaz’s camp has been exploring the possibility of departure this summer and Bayern’s proposal obviously came at the right moment. There were two attempts at agreeing a new deal for him to remain at Anfield, but the gap between the demands of the player and the offers from the club proved impossible to bridge.

It remains to be seen what the potential influx of €75million would mean for Liverpool’s plans for the remainder of the summer transfer window, with the likes of Newcastle star Alexander Isak and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo heavily linked.
