The India batting coach has issued an official statement on the recently erupted controversy between head coach Gautam Gambhir and the Oval pitch curator.
In a recent viral video from the Indian nets, head coach Gautam Gambhir has been spotted having a heated spat with the pitch curator at The Oval. The fight accelerated further, which led batting coach Sitanshu Kotak to intervene between the two.

The fight that ensued between the Indian head coach and the Oval curator has taken the internet by storm, as it has spread like wildfire, with people being confused about what the real reason behind Gambhir’s outburst was.

To bring an end to the controversies and also make an indication towards the stand of the BCCI, batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, while speaking at the press conference, said:
“Curator yelled at support staff when they were getting icebox. Gambhir objected at that. The way he spoke irked Gambhir. Everyone knows curator at The Oval is not the easiest person to deal with. India will not lodge any official complaint,” said Sitanshu Kotak as quoted by TOI.

Sitanshu Kotak revealed that they were asked to stay 2.5 meters away from the pitch despite wearing rubber spikes, which was surprising. He said:
“When we were having a conversation near the pitch. They had sent a man to send a message for us to stay 2.5 m away from the pitch. We were wearing joggers.”
“We know curators are possessive about the square. What he said about the head coach is his opinion and I don’t want to comment. We did nothing wrong, we were wearing rubber spikes.”
