The LA Lakers are determined to make 2025 a successful year after making some good progress in the first half of the season under JJ Redick.
Right now the LA Lakers are looking strong to make the play-offs, and in the latter half of 2024-25 they hope some of their developmental stars might be able to make an impact.
A few of these are playing in the G-League for the South Bay Lakers, one famously is LeBron James‘ son Bronny James.
Bronny James is continuing to pick up vital minutes for the South Bay Lakers, aiding his development, with JJ Redick alluding to the need to build confidence too.
He has played for the LA Lakers and scored his first points in October, before being assigned to the G-League.
Earlier in December, Bronny James put up 30 points in a game for the first time, and he is continuing to perform well, going 23-9-5 in 93-90 loss to the Cleveland Charge.
The nine rebounds were a career-high, where he was one short of a double-double.
While Bronny James was narrowly short of a double-double, teammate Maxwell Lewis achieved it, going 14-11-1.
Maxwell Lewis is also on assignment from the LA Lakers, and his development is certainly of interest to the team.
Lewis was the 40th overall draft pick in the 2023 draft, taken by the Nuggets on behalf of the Lakers.
The 6ft 7″ forward played in 34 games for the Lakers last year, but has found opportunities tougher to come by under JJ Redick.
He has played in seven matches, scoring four points in the loss to the Timberwolves in early December.
His latest performance shows he is still pushing, not giving up, and wants to get another call-up back to the main squad.
