The LA Lakers have recorded back to back wins over the Sacramento Kings.
Former LA Lakers head coach Darvin Ham struggled terribly against the Sacramento Kings, going 1-7 against them during his spell in Los Angeles.
With their win against the Kings on December 20, JJ Redick went one better, going 2-0 against them for the season.
Now with another victory, 103-99, the Lakers are 3-0 against the Kings for the season.
Golf afficionado Austin Reaves led the LA Lakers in their previous win, scoring 25 points. He contributed another 15 points in their latest victory.
Reaves added four rebounds and five assists, and was praised after the game by Lakers legend Byron Scott.
Byron Scott told the Lakers post-game broadcast that he is a big fan of the Lakers shooting guard.
He said: “Just a gutsy player, smart, you know, extremely intelligent. His basketball IQ is off the chain.
“He makes big shots. He just had a great all around game.”
Scott also praised the all around defensive effort from the Lakers, before praising a late game sequence: “Austin knocks down the two free throws, seals the game.”
Austin Reaves is averaging 17.2 points per game this season, the best of his career. Last season he averaged 15.9 points per game, and 13.0 the year prior.
The Lakers have been inconsistent, but are quietly on a three game winning streak, the second best in the whole Western Conference.
This has enabled the Lakers to rise to fifth place, with a 16-12 record.
LeBron James top-scored against the Kings with 32 points, with D’Angelo Russell scoring 20 from the bench.
