Carmelo Anthony addresses Draymond Green and Jordan Poole bust-up and apology, ‘just real facts’

Draymond Green and Jordan Poole’s past history on the Golden State Warriors has been revisited aplenty over the past few days.

Nearly three years ago, both Draymond Green and Jordan Poole‘s tensions blew up, in what may just be the most scandalous event in the Golden State Warriors history.

Green punched Poole, in what turned out to deliver a major distraction across the franchise, ultimately affecting their failed title defense in 2022-23. Poole was later traded to the Wizards.

In their regular season encounter earlier this week, Green posted a cryptic social media message for Poole which could indicate his regrets about the event.

Yet in the latest segment of his Draymond Green Show, the Golden State star pushed back by hurling a jab towards Poole, claiming that he’s been “asking sympathy” and should finally let go of that drama between them.

Green’s notion in his podcast has already absorbed mixed reaction not only within the Dub Nation. Although Green expressed apologies about the scandal, many still criticize him for his perceived gaslighting against Poole.

This has been the similar thoughts offered by Rudy Gay in 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, noting that Poole’s emotions were just natural for how the situation unfolded.

“I think he’s sorry. But that don’t mean nothing to Jordan. Jordan’s going to feel how he feel,” the retired NBA veteran said.

“I think they need to sit down.”

And as for Carmelo Anthony, what Green did was unjustifiable despite feeling sorry over what happened.

“That took a lot of him to say that. The flip side, ain’t no [expletive] punching me in my [expletive] like that,” the future Hall of Famer said.

“This is just real facts. Nobody is punching me in my [expletive] like that and we cool ever again. No matter how much you sorry.”

Beyond obtaining the hit from Green, Poole certainly endured hefty implications from their altercation.

Prior to the sequence, Poole drew high hopes and expectations from the Warriors and its fanbase who could soon take over and inherit the keys of the franchise from Stephen Curry, or at least be a key piece alongside him.

Poole enjoyed tremendous development from being a late first rounder into being a vital piece of the Dubs’ 2022 championship. His talent earned him a well deserved extension from the Warriors worth $140m over four years.

Yet the punch made by Green shattered his overall composure, as it bothered him all season long within Golden State. And in 2023, his hopes of becoming a Warrior in the long run was subsequently ended as he got traded to the Washington Wizards.

For Anthony, Poole shouldn’t be blamed if he still hasn’t gotten over from the actions of Green.

“I respect how much you apologetic, you sorry, I ain’t got to like you no more. It is what it is.

“[But] you ain’t punching me in my [expletive] like that and thinking I’m just going to come back four years later and be like, ‘Yo, man we cool lets have a conversation,’” Anthony added.

“It’s over. And I’m a guy who wants people to talk. It is over with. Let’s not even try to mend that. Jordan Poole is going to feel the way he feels.”
