Carmelo Anthony on what ‘revolutionary’ Nico Harrison is feeling right now at Dallas Mavericks, ‘it has got to be…’

Nico Harrison’s grand plan for the Dallas Mavericks has fallen apart already.

The Dallas Mavericks are reeling from a season ending injury to Kyrie Irving, which should kill off their chances of contending for the title this year. And it could have serious repercussions next season too.

One radical suggestion came for the Mavericks to hard reset by trading away Anthony Davis, even though he has played just one game for the team.

Just for this to be put forward shows how quickly the Mavericks situation has gone south. Bill Simmons claims they could be out of contention for the rest of the decade.

The man under fire in Dallas at present is General Manager Nico Harrison, the brains behind the Luka Doncic trade.

This could be a decision he never lives down, especially with Luka Doncic performing at a high level for the LA Lakers.

Former NBA star Carmelo Anthony has a little sympathy for Nico Harrison, because while his reasoning for trading Doncic away may be questionable, nobody has been able to see what he traded for.

Anthony Davis suffered an injury in his first game, and has not featured since. And now Kyrie Irving is out for a season, amid a contractual dilemma for the Mavericks.

Carmelo Anthony spoke to the 7PM To Brooklyn podcast about how Nico Harrison will be feeling right now.

He said: “Damn. It’s bad for Nico right now. This is where you just… it is downhill and it’s no stopping.

“It’s hard bro. He’s losing sleep. He got to be losing sleep right now. It has got to be very stressful.”

Carmelo Anthony added how he genuinely feels that Nico Harrison felt like he was making the right move, whether people agree or not.

He said: “It’s like you think you doing something that’s special. Revolutionary. It’s revolutionary and first AD go down then– now Kyrie go down but you already got Lively over here on the bench. You got the Daniel Gafford on the bench.”

“You have a gameplan until you get punched in the mouth. Nico getting punched in the mouth.”

The Dallas Mavericks run of bad luck since the Luka Doncic trade has been compared to the legendary Curse of the Bambino. Nico Harrison will be hoping the bad luck is over, and that there will be some good news on the horizon for the team soon. The fanbase deserve it.
