Celtics fans cannot believe that Jayson Tatum went through a big injury scare so close to the NBA playoffs beginning.
The Boston Celtics were going strong this year. Reigning as defending champions, the Celtics firmly established themselves as the team to beat.
Joe Mazzulla has gotten the Celtics to be the best three-point shooting team in the NBA, continuing his fine work this season.
The team has a 53-19 record, good enough for the second seed in the Eastern Conference, and still positioned strongly for a post-season run.
But their championship hunt were dealt a scare, as Jayson Tatum went down injured in the Celtics’ game against the Sacramento Kings.

The Boston Celtics lost Jayson Tatum during their game against the Sacramento Kings. Tatum rolled his ankle after Domantas Sabonis was in his landing space, and had to be helped off the court.
Celtics fans were rightfully distraught seeing one of their best players getting injured. One fan on X wrote, “Prayers. Hope he’s okay.”
“Man, hoping Tatums is okay! Those ankle injuries can be tricky. Celtics need him healthy for the stretch run!”, wrote another fan.
One Celtics supporter seemed to be a little optimistic by saying, “He’ll be back soon tho, little ankle roll. Celtics will be fine without him.”
However, not everyone was as optimistic, saying, “That looked bad. Hope it’s nothing serious—Celtics need Tatum healthy for the playoffs.”
The Celtics will hope that the superstar isn’t hurt too bad and can make a return to the team by the time the playoffs begin.
And if ESPN insider Ramona Shelburne’s reports are to be believed, the superstar barely escaped a very serious injury. But we need to wait and see what his prognosis is.
She posted on X: “Jayson Tatum seems to have escaped serious injury after turning his left ankle landing on Sabonis’ foot while shooting a 3 Monday night, telling ESPN he’s just “sore” but he still needs to be “cautious.” Tatum has previously injured the same ankle.”

The Celtics need Jayson Tatum if they want to make a title push this season. He is arguably their best player if not their second-best player.
This season, prior to the injury, Tatum was averaging 27.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. The Celtics can’t afford to lose production of this quality.
Tatum is too good a player for the Celtics. Even rival coaches, like Brooklyn Nets’ Jordi Fernandez are in awe of him.
Especially as they head into what will be a very challenging playoff run. At some point, they will have to face the Cleveland Cavaliers if they want to reach the NBA Finals.
And without Tatum ready and healthy, it is hard to see the Celtics competing with a Cavaliers squad that have been elite this season.
