One Chicago Bulls star showing some Michael Jordan like traits, says former NBA player.
The Chicago Bulls continue to struggle in the 2024-25 NBA season as they lost their recent game against the Sacramento Kings.
It was anyone’s game until the end of the first half, but the Kings dominated the Bulls in the final two quarters of the game.
However, there was still a silver lining for the Bulls and it was the impressive 36-point performance by star guard Zach LaVine.
Prior to becoming the Michael Jordan with six NBA Championships, MJ’s biggest quality was his insane scoring prowess.
Despite the Bulls struggling to win in the postseason, Jordan was putting up impressive numbers during the regular season. Former NBA player Kendall Gill says LaVine has been doing the same in recent weeks.
“He is on a MJ run. He’s scored a lot of these points in crunch time. It seems to me Zach is on a mission.
“I don’t know what mission it is, because we haven’t had the opportunity to talk to him and really get into depth about what he wants to achieve this season – but it’s that look in his eye man,” Gill said.
“That’s the look Zach LaVine has had all season long, it’s like a calm, eerily assassin-type look in his eye.
He’s coming through each and every game, I’m loving that we are witnessing it. Hopefully, this can turn into something special,” he added.
LaVine has constantly had his name in trade rumors this season and it feels like he is playing with a chip on his shoulder.
Hopefully, he finds a new team sooner rather than later as his talent is getting wasted with the Bulls.
To put things into perspective, let’s take a look at the Bulls star’s numbers over the last eight games of the season. During that stretch, LaVine has put up 31.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game.
Moreover, he has scored at least 30 points in seven of those games. LaVine is doing everything in his power and as a result, the Bulls have a 5-3 record.
But it goes without saying that the Bulls need to either trade him or find him some help as soon as possible. When Jordan was having those stretches in his career, the Bulls paired him with Scottie Pippen.
And the rest, as we know, is history.
