Chris Finch was frustrated with the way one of his Timberwolves starters played in Game 2.
The Minnesota Timberwolves lost Game 2 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They are now down 0-2 in the Western Conference Finals.
Fans believe the Thunder are almost guaranteed to reach the NBA Finals. Given how the Timberwolves played in these two games, it’s hard to argue against that.
It was a rough night for Julius Randle, who scored just 6 points in tonight’s game. His form from Game 1 didn’t carry over.
Head coach Chris Finch opted to replace him with an underperforming Timberwolves star, and after the game, he defended that choice.

Chris Finch spoke after the Minnesota Timberwolves lost Game 2. When a reporter asked why he replaced Julius Randle after he scored just 6 points, he pointed to trying something new.
Finch admitted that he brought in Naz Reid to try and introduce a new dynamic that might sway things in their favor.
“Just wanted to try to see if I could spread the floor and get some quick decision-making out there. Just trying to change the complexion of the game.”
Naz Reid didn’t do that much better in the role, coming off the bench to score 10 points and going 3-8 from the field.

It’s clear that whatever the Minnesota Timberwolves are doing just isn’t working. So much so, that they are actively losing their heads in the second halves of both games.
If the Timberwolves have any chance of making a comeback, they need to make some changes. Anthony Edwards has been great, but he must be even better.
Julius Randle, Naz Reid, Jaden McDaniels, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker must now step up in a bigger way. What they’re doing right now isn’t enough.
The Timberwolves have a talented roster. They could be even better if Chris Finch adapts his game plan to account for the Thunder’s strength.
