With just two rounds of the season remaining in the Italian Serie B, Como have come within a step of earning promotion to the Serie A by beating Cittadella 2-1 on Wednesday, and Cesc Fabregas, the former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea playmaker, celebrated quite passionately after the final whistle.
A victory away to 14th-place Modena on Sunday would ensure a second-place finish for Como, who currently sit three points behind leaders Parma, four ahead of Venezia in third, and eight ahead of fourth-place Cremonese. For the time being, Venezia remain the only team able to overtake Como and push them to third place, which leads into promotion play-offs.
