Liverpool have completed and confirmed the signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. Following the successful conclusion of the transfer negotiations and the medical examinations, the Germany international has signed a five-year contract with the Premier League champions.

The transfer will possibly break the British record, with add-ons devised to take the total fee to £116million. The sum of £100million is guaranteed to Leverkusen in any case.
Wirtz reportedly rejected the advances of Bayern Munich and Manchester City to join Liverpool, being impressed with the clarity of the future plans presented by the Merseysiders. He flew to the north-west of England on Thursday, undergoing his medical on Friday morning.
