Giannis on why Hawks loss was ‘more frustrating’ than early struggles, ‘It doesn’t mean anything’

The Milwaukee Bucks had their seven-game winning streak snapped against the Atlanta Hawks.

After starting the season with a 2-8 start, many lost hope for a potential comeback by the Milwaukee Bucks.

In fact, many trade scenarios involving Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard emerged, but as things stand right now, the Bucks have turned their season around.

Considering the Hawks are a mid-tier team in the East, albeit defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers twice this season, the Bucks were viewed as the heavy favorites to win the game.

However, following four hard-fought quarters, the Hawks got away with a 119-104 win over Milwaukee.

After the game, Antetokounmpo shared his views on the frustrating loss against Trae Young and co.

“I think it’s more frustrating. But that doesn’t necessarily mean anything if it’s less or more frustrating for me or for the team,” Antetokounmpo told the media.

“You know, that’s the feeling you want to have as a team, ‘Yeah we gave one away.’ But now we just got to go back, watch some film, do our adjustments, we have one of the best teams in the East,” the Greek Freak added.

Despite not sulking about the loss, Giannis admitted it was frustrating to lose a winnable game. After all, it snapped the team’s momentum ahead of a huge game against the Boston Celtics this Friday.

The game ended in a 13-point loss for the Bucks, but it wasn’t Giannis’ fault by any means. He continued his monstrous season after once again scoring more than 30 points.

To be precise, he finished the game with 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists in 36 minutes of playing time. His second-in-command, Damian Lillard, also had an impressive 25-point outing.

As Antetokounmpo continues to make noise, his case for winning the 2025 NBA MVP continues to get stronger. He last won the honor back in the 2019-20 NBA season, taking his overall tally to two.

Can he add a third MVP award to his trophy case? As things stand right now, he likely should.
