How Jonathan Kuminga feels about Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings interest amid sign-and-trade rumors

Jonathan Kuminga has been linked to the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings, but how would he feel about joining them?

Jonathan Kuminga and the Golden State Warriors are currently locked in a stalemate over the young star’s future.

Kuminga wanted to leave the Warriors this offseason, but didn’t receive any offer sheets from other NBA teams looking to sign him.

Most recently, Kuminga rejected a two-year, $45 million Warriors contract offer, thus leaving the two sides back at square one at the negotiation table.

Kuminga reportedly refused to give up his no-trade clause in the deal and didn’t agree to a team option in the second year.

On top of that, Kuminga is hoping to earn $30 million from his next deal. There are currently two teams vying to land him in a sign-and-trade – the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns.

According to Brett Siegel of Clutch Points, Jonathan Kuminga wants to be a starter on his next team. The Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings are both interested in him.

Siegel reported that Kuminga is open to joining either team, with the Kings in particular drawing his interest. The meeting between Kuminga and the Kings GM Scott Perry went quite well.

“While his market has been thin this offseason, Kuminga has drawn interest from teams outside of Golden State.

“Specifically, the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns have headlined talks of a potential sign-and-trade this offseason.

“Kuminga, who wants a new opportunity on a team that views him as a starter, would welcome any chance to join either team, league sources told ClutchPoints.

“The Kings have been widely viewed as Kuminga’s top destination, especially after recently meeting with new GM Scott Perry and members of the organization.

The Golden State Warriors haven’t been making any negotiations over a sign-and-trade with the Sacramento Kings easy.

In fact, the Warriors have ruled out giving up Moses Moody and Buddy Hield. This is a huge blow for the Kings, who are trying to package Malik Monk in a potential trade package.

On top of that, the Warriors also refused to take DeMar DeRozan. It’s gotten to the point where, unless the Kings offer an unprotected first-round pick, the Warriors won’t make a trade.

The Warriors are being very stern on the matter. But unfortunately for them, Kuminga and his agent aren’t backing down either. It will be interesting to see how this situation unfolds.
