How many NBA points LeBron James had when Cooper Flagg was born

LeBron James’ longevity is truly unmatched and fans may never see a player of his caliber ever again in the NBA.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James will soon finish the 22nd season of his NBA career with just seven games left to be played in the campaign, excluding the playoffs.

During his time in the NBA, the King has created an unmatched legacy for himself. The 40-year-old has a plethora of records to his name, including the NBA’s all-time scoring record.

One of James’ most phenomenal records is his double-digit scoring streak that started back in 2007. It may not sound crazy unless you know that the potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft was only a few days old when the scoring streak started.

Duke’s Cooper Flagg, who is the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft is expected to be the next big thing in the league.

It’s already crazy that the 40-year-old LBJ has a chance to face off against Flagg at some point next season. However, what’s even more surprising is the fact that even before Flagg was born, James was already an established superstar in the league.

To be precise, Flagg was born on December 21, 2006. Coincidentally, LBJ played a game on the same day as the Cleveland Cavaliers faced off against the Detroit Pistons.

James finished the game with a 26-point performance as he recorded the 6,976th point of his career. He was just 24 points shy of reaching 7,000 career points.

Moreover, it’s the same season when James last had a single-digit scoring performance in a regular season game in his career.

Being in the NBA for 22 years is a feat in itself, but remaining one of the best players in the NBA for more than two decades is something that fans have never witnessed before James’ arrival.

At this point, it’s pretty much clear that James may not be the GOAT in the eyes of many fans, but he is by far the most complete player to ever step foot on the hardwood.

Even his biggest rival in the GOAT debate, Michael Jordan, recently confirmed that James can play in any era and be successful.

This season, James has averaged 24.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game while helping the Lakers reach a 46-29 record and contend for a top-six spot in the conference.
