“I hear” – Former Spurs employee says he knows one deal they’re working on

Tottenham Hotspur are in a transitional moment under Ange Postecoglou and plenty of movement will be expected this summer to help the Australian continue his project.

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer business

On Thursday evening, Wilson Odobert’s double proved decisive as Tottenham progressed to the Europa League quarter-final over AZ Alkmaar, ensuring there is still life left in a season that is slowly petering out from a Premier League standpoint.

Ange Postecoglou has had more reason than most managers to cite grievances on the injury front – the Lilywhites have been derailed by absences this season, there is no doubt about that.

Their Jekyll and Hyde nature has also played a part in a strange campaign, but the lure of potential Champions League qualification still being on offer should they emerge victorious in Bilbao could fuel major squad changes in the summer transfer window.

Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane has been offered to Spurs and they are monitoring his situation. Bringing in the out of contract Germany international alongside Mathys Tel would go a long way to appeasing a support desperate to see their side compete for silverware over the coming years.

Furthermore, Koni de Winter has been cited as a potential Tottenham defensive addition from Genoa. Kevin Danso was already added to the fold in January, and Postecoglou looks to be wasting no time in shoring up a leaky backline that has suffered at times due to their high-octane tactical framework.

Excitement over arrivals is one thing. Nevertheless, exits will be needed to clear wage expenditure to dip into the market once the summer transfer window opens.

“I hear” – Former Spurs employee delivers Bissouma transfer update

Speaking to Football Insider, former Tottenham scout Mick Brown has revealed that Yves Bissouma will be sold this summer due to not being in Postecoglou’s long-term plans. He also says the Lilywhites are already “working” on signing a new midfielder behind the scenes.

“I don’t think he fits in with what Postecoglou is trying to do and he’s not really going to be part of his plans in the long-term. They’ve got other options he prefers in that position, and I hear they’re going to look to sign somebody too.

Could a return to Merseyside be on the cards?

“So I think they’ll be open to offers for him when the window opens and I can see him leaving the club. If Bissouma leaves, he’s going to need replacing, and the scouting department are already working on finding that player behind the scenes.”

While the identity of who Spurs could pursue remains anyone’s guess, Bissouma may be on his way out after making 34 appearances across all competitions this term. Ranking outside Tottenham’s top 20 Premier League performers, according to WhoScored, the Mali international is in need of a fresh start following three years in the capital.

Richarlison may also be of interest to Everton, creating room for a sea change within the dressing room this summer under the watch of Postecoglou.
