On Friday, October 11, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the India National Cricket Team squad for the three-match Test series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team.
The India squad announced by the BCCI is very similar to the one that played the two-match home Test series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team that the Rohit Sharma-led side comfortably won by 2-0.
Jasprit Bumrah Named New Vice-captain Of India Test Team
The biggest news coming out of the squad announcement has been the appointment of the premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah as the new vice-captain of the team in the purest format of the game.
Meanwhile, only the left-arm pacer Yash Dayal has been dropped from the squad that faced the Bangla Tigers while the rest of the team is the same. The BCCI has also named four reserves in the squad.
