Jalen Brunson has a shot at surpassing Michael Jordan in a playoff record, LeBron James is No. 1

Jalen Brunson’s amazing playoff run could become even better with Michael Jordan’s record in sight.

The New York Knicks are currently down 2-1 in the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers.

Despite the Knicks not being in the lead, many are hopeful of a stunning comeback from their franchise. Why? Well, a key reason behind that is the presence of Jalen Brunson on the roster.

Brunson has been on a tear throughout the 2025 NBA Playoffs. So much so that, he has a shot at surpassing Michael Jordan in an elite postseason record.

Scoring and playmaking are Brunson’s bread and butter. Although the Knicks star’s scoring ability has been consistently doubted, he has proven his critics wrong.

In fact, Brunson is one of the few players in the league currently who can impact the game with both his scoring and playmaking.

It’s evident from the fact that the Knicks superstar has five games under his belt where he has scored at least 35 points and dished out 10 assists as well.

Brunson recently surpassed the likes of Luka Doncic, Trae Young, Kobe Bryant, and more with a sensational Game 2 performance for the Knicks.

While he currently ranks fourth on the all-time list of this stat, he is only three games away from tying Jordan for the third spot, who had eight such games in his career.

There’s a chance that Brunson could surpass MJ on this rare list, but it’s tough to see him take the top spot, at least in the 2025 postseason.

After all, it’s none other than Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, who holds the record for most 35+ point and 10+ assist games in playoff history with 12.

Below James is another legendary Lakers figure who impacted the team in all sorts of roles. Yes, it’s the late NBA legend Jerry West.
