Jalen Brunson once picked hardest to guard between Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving, one star makes players ‘look foolish’

New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson is one of the best offensive players in the NBA.

This is evident from the fact that Jalen Brunson averaged 26.0 points per game for the New York Knicks during the 2024-25 NBA season.

While Brunson is a solid scorer, he’s arguably not as good on the defensive end of the floor. Keeping that in mind, one might wonder which NBA stars have given Brunson a run for his money on that end of the court.

As a point guard, Brunson is often matched up against phenomenal scorers like Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving on the floor.

Speaking of which, Brunson was once asked which NBA player is the hardest to guard for him.

“I can’t say either because they’re still in the NBA,” Brunson initially told fans at a New York park in 2023.

However, later on, Brunson was given names like Curry and Irving. To which, the Knicks star gave a solid answer.

“It’s not Steph Curry. Steph’s gonna make his shots regardless of whether you’re in front of him or not,” JB continued.

He added: “Kyrie is going to make you look foolish regardless.”

It’s great to see Brunson giving Curry and Irving their flowers as they are arguably two of the most skilled scorers in the modern era of the NBA.

After Brunson shared his views on the hardest NBA player that he has ever had to guard, fans asked his opinion on the ever-so-famous GOAT debate.

The Knicks star was asked to pick between LA Lakers star LeBron James and NBA legend Michael Jordan.

“Personally, just because I’m competing against LeBron, I can’t say LeBron right now. I’ll wait until he retires,” Brunson answered.

Well, with James set to turn 41 years old this year, he’s closer to retirement than ever. But fans may only get to hear Brunson’s opinion on the GOAT debate once LBJ officially announces his retirement.
