Jamahl Mosley was utterly confused by Stephen Curry question after Warriors-Magic, ‘the man had…’

Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley was baffled by a question on Stephen Curry.

Stephen Curry destroyed the Orlando Magic with a 56 point performance, by far his best game this season, topping his previous high of 38.

The Golden State Warriors won the game 121-115, with the Magic putting up a good fight, that would have been enough on most nights.

The win moved the Warriors’ win streak to five in a row, 32-27 for the season, now in seventh place in the Western Conference. They are emerging as a real threat, especially with Curry hitting dangerous highs.

In an interview following the game, Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley was momentarily left confused by a question posed to him about the Warriors performance.

A reporter asked: “Aside from Steph, because we know he can do those things on certain nights, but aside from Steph what do you think was the difference?”

Mosley was left baffled, pointing out the heroics that four-time champion Curry produced to lead his team to a win.

He responded: “The man had 56 points…. there is no aside from Steph. He had 56.”

Mosley did go on to find an answer, arguing that the Magic gave up too many fouls to the Warriors.

“I completely understand, I think to be completely transparent, 34 free throws for a jump shooting basketball team is tough to overcome as well.”

The Warriors scored 30 of their 34 free throws, with Curry going 12-12, and Moses Moody also hitting 100 per cent with 7-7.

For contrast the Magic only had 18 free throws, scoring 14. They had a big night from Paolo Banchero with 41 points – but it was not enough.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr reflected on Curry’s big performance, the fourth biggest score of his decorated career.

Curry’s top score was 62 points against the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021.

Kerr told ESPN: “We’re spoiled around here. We’re used to it, but it never gets old watching, I can tell you that. I think the fans here tonight, even the Magic fans, they know they’re witnessing the greatest shooter ever and one of the greatest performers ever.

“It’s not just the shots going in, it’s just the fluidity, the beauty of his movement and motion and his audacity, the shots that he’s willing to take.

“He’s an incredible performer and he put on quite a show tonight.”

Curry appears to have been motivated by the Warriors’ recent revival, which led to Draymond Green vowing they will win the title again.

The superstar has spoken of his excitement at how a combination with Jimmy Butler can make the Warriors more dangerous, and judging by recent results, he is not wrong.
