Cannonier vs. Rodrigues took place Feb. 15 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nev. Jared Cannonier (18-8) and Gregory Rodrigues (16-6) squared off in the main event clash. The fight aired live on ESPN+.

Round 1
Both men out in orthodox and Cannonier takes the center but they’re moving around, bouncing. Both test the waters with calf kicks that miss by a lot. Then Robocop lands a pair of kicks. Then a right hand. And another. Greg Cop starting strong and Cannonier is left searching.
Cannonier lands his own right hand up top. Trying to get some respect. But Robocop puts more heat back on him. Everything Robocop throws is so heavy.
And he drops him! Cannonier got sat down by a right hand. He’s up and shoots and Robocop grabs the neck. Cannonier sees it and moves up, still holding the clinch. Robocop tries a knee and loses his balance. Cannonier sticks on him as Robocop gets back up. In a clinch here as Cannonier tries to recover.
They break after a bit and Rodrigues is right back after him. He looks enormous in there. And lands to the body. Cannonier throwing back and then Robocop grabs a single. He finishes the takedown but Cannonier pops right back up.
Pair of hooks from Robocop catch Cannonier throwing a kick. Robocop keeps bullying Cannonier back to the fence and unloading. Cannonier looks like a man fighting the tide right now. And another hook clips Cannonier!
He’s got his wits but Cannonier wrestling and Robocop is on the neck now. But Cannonier powers through and takes Rodrigues down against the fence. Robocop pops right back up and they work in the clinch until the horn.

Round 2
The big questions is can Robocop keep this pace up? He looks fresh as a daisy to start this round.
And immediately puts a right hand on Cannonier. But Cannonier is more active to start this round. He’s coming forward and showing some urgency. And maybe Robocop is a little slower in there now. Though he lands a big right hand.
Cannonier still the advancing party but can’t land much. Robocop isn’t throwing much either though and Cannonier walks his way into a clinch along the fence. He tags Cannonier coming in but Cannonier takes it well.
Robocop is definitely slower this round but he doesn’t look winded. Perhaps this is just a tactical decision to pace himself after the opening round. Both men start jabbing and Robocop throwing with less power. But eats a counter stepping in.
Cannonier starting to chop that lead leg down. Those are paying huge dividends and landing almost at will now. Good left hook from Robocop but Cannonier is gaining confidence. More low kicks. Robocop lands a good right hand but Cannonier has the momentum.
Kick from Robocop sits Cannonier down as he was on a leg. Robocop tries to jump but Cannonier pops up and breaks free, then hits him. Cannonier definitely looking fresher in there and we’ve got a LONG way to go.

Round 3
Robocop looking a bit refreshed at the start here. But Cannonier is trying to put a pace on him. Robocop answering the call now though. He’s holding the center and firing back. Not letting Cannonier run away with this.
And Robocop puts a few jabs to the body. Both men using their jabs plenty now. Robocop lands a right hand. Then a left hook as Cannonier keeps jabbing. Robocop bleeding from under the eye it looks like. And he starts advancing. Much better round from him here but it’s up for grabs with 2 minutes left.
Robocop gets Cannonier to the fence and starts unloading. Cannonier changes levels and Robocop defends then backs him up. Robocop swinging in there now but is hands are dropping. Cannonier meeting him in the fire. Robocop grabs a clinch and a knee.
OH! Robocop lands a good elbow that gets Cannonier backing up! He might be hurt. Robocop pressing in and Cannonier is all defense. Robocop single leg attempt but Cannonier defends. Cannonier definitely slowing in here. Clinch and OH! Cannonier lands a nasty elbow that sits Robocop down!
Short time and Cannonier pounces with big shots! Robocop is saved by the bell!

Round 4
Robocop was winning that round cleanly until the last few seconds and he’s still hurt to start.
Cannonier comes out with fire and he’s got Robocop against the fence and in serious trouble early!! Robocop has nothing left and a body shot drops him against the fence! Follow-up shots but that’s all she wrote!
