The Golden State Warriors are doing something they weren’t even close to doing before landing Jimmy Butler.
The Golden State Warriors look like a whole different team now that they landed Jimmy Butler. Since Butler joined the team, the Warriors have an 11-2 record.
Draymond Green credited Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry for building chemistry so easily. But there is no denying how well both stars are feeding off each other.
For the most part, Butler is having fun again, something he wasn’t doing with the Heat. And he is even setting an example for young players like Jonathan Kuminga.
Butler and the Warriors needed each other, something Draymond Green has also echoed. But now, we see the true impact that he is having on the Warriors, which Steve Kerr pointed to.

Speaking after the Golden State Warriors’ win over the New York Knicks, Steve Kerr had a lot of praise for Jimmy Butler’s impact on the team.
The head coach noted that since Butler arrived on the Warriors, they have developed an identity as a two-way team. In their last 10 games, the Warriors are second in both offense and defense in the NBA.
“Jimmy has a lot to do with that… We’re finding a new identity and it’s fun to watch unfold. Two-way team. Last 10 games, I think we are second in both offense and defense.”
“Small sample size, but that’s when we got Jimmy. Things have clearly turned with him. He’s a great compliment to what we already do.”
The Warriors actually have the seventh-best offensive rating in the NBA during this stretch. However, Kerr was accurate about them having the second-best defensive rating, right behind the Detroit Pistons.

During NBA All-Star weekend, Draymond Green proclaimed that the Golden State Warriors can win an NBA championship with Jimmy Butler.
The comments got a mixed response. Stephen Curry agreed with his teammate. While Stephen A. Smith lauded the mentality from the former All-Star.
But many feel that realistically, the Warriors don’t have the depth to compete with the Thunder, Celtics, Cavaliers, and Lakers.
That isn’t to say they can’t make a run. Jimmy Butler has shown in the past he can literally carry teams to the NBA Finals. And now as a second option, he has the perfect tools in front of him to repeat the same magic trick.
