Jimmy Butler has secretive approach ahead of Miami Heat return, Draymond Green reveals, ‘I’m excited to…’

Draymond Green has revealed what the newest Golden State Warriors player Jimmy Butler’s mentality is like ahead of the game against his former team Miami Heat next week.

The former Most Improved Player moved to the Warriors just before the trade deadline after his tenure in Miami ended with tensions between Butler and Pat Riley.

However, things have all gone well for him as the Warriors are looking like a rejuvenated unit with Butler in the lineup.

The team are 15-2 with the six-time All-Star and his contributions are making them look like a tough side to beat.

With the season reaching its business end, the fixtures are going to get tough for the Warriors but all eyes are certainly going to be on the game against Miami Heat next week.

Jimmy Butler will face his former side the Miami Heat on Wednesday, 25 March, which will be his first encounter against them since leaving the franchise.

Draymond Green revealed Butler is going to be on ’10’ but is unsure if he is going to let his teammates know about how he feels going into the game.

Speaking on ‘Draymond Green show with Baron Davis,’ Green said: “There’s two guys, there’s two different types of people that deal with situations like this.

“There’s the person that doesn’t say anything, and you know, it means a lot to them, but they just don’t say anything. And then there’s the person that’s like, ‘nah, I’m going to get this’. And the reality is, we all know Jimmy’s mentality.

“He going to be on 10. What I’m excited to see is, is he going to be the guy that lets everybody else know, and meaning us around him, he on 10?

“Nonetheless, I think the atmosphere is going to be a great atmosphere.”

Green revealed Butler will make himself known with a few plays during the game.

“I think there’s going to be some plays that Jimmy going to make it known in that game. And I’m looking forward to that smoke,” added Green.

Green will also be facing his former teammates Andrew Wiggins and Kyle Anderson in the game against Heat.

Both the players were sent to Heat in the Butler trade, but their team have been struggling and are currently on a nine-game losing streak.

Wiggins won a championship with the Warriors in 2022, meanwhile Anderson was part of the team at the start of the season and helped them get off to a 12-3 start.

Speaking on the return of his former teammates, Green said: “Wiggs is going to come, and Wiggs is going to want to play great, Kyle Anderson going to get minutes, and he’s going to want to play great.

“I think it’s going it’s going to be a great atmosphere.

I think it’s going to be a fun game. I’m looking forward to it. Obviously, Miami is always fun in this out, but we’re going down there locked in. So I’m looking forward to it. I think it’ll be great.”
