After months of enduring drama and speculations that caught the attention of the entire NBA, the embattled All-Star is now parting ways with the Miami Heat to ignite a new chapter with the Golden State Warriors.

Joining Golden State is a wish fulfilled for Jimmy Butler. As he was initially made available by the Heat for a trade, the 35-year-old named the Warriors as one of his desired landing spots.

Just an hour after it was reported that he got traded by the Heat, Butler is now ready for new beginnings within the Dub Nation.

As such, it has been revealed that Butler will take an intriguing jersey number switch as a brand-new member of the Warriors.

Sources told NBA insider Chris Haynes that Butler will adapt jersey No. 10 in his entry to Golden State, a significant change out of six years that he proudly boasted No. 22 with Miami on his chest.

Butler will abandon the idea of wearing No. 22 again as it was the jersey number of Andrew Wiggins, who eventually emerged as his trade partner in which the Canadian star now heads to Miami.

Ty Jerome was the last one who took No. 10 jersey in Golden State. As such, the number was prominently worn by the likes of Tim Hardaway Sr. (1991-1996) and David Lee (2011-2015) in franchise’s history.

In the wake of the groundbreaking deal around Butler, the entire Heat players encountered an intriguing way of finding out that their franchise star finally got traded.

As they are playing this Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Heat were caught off guard about the turn of events. In a video clip that is now going viral around the league’s social media circles, fans informed Tyler Herro, Kevin Love, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and the others that Butler was dealt by Miami.

Since the conflict began, Miami stood firm around the shenanigans and disengagement of Butler to the team. From passive game performances and leaving the entire group hanging in team flights, the Heat were alienated by the disgruntled star throughout the process which prompted the franchise to suspend him for three times.

But in the end, they can only wave good bye to Butler after a six-year journey of highs and lows, highlighted by two NBA Finals appearances in 2020 and 2023.
