The Chicago Bulls came up just short against the undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers in a hard-fought Eastern Conference battle.
The Cleveland Cavaliers undefeated season goes on, now moving to 12-0 thanks to a 119-113 over the Chicago Bulls.
Not even having six Bulls players reaching double figures, and winning the rebound differential could prevent the Cavaliers from winning the game. Turnovers cost the Bulls, who slipped back to 4-7 for the season.
One of the standout players was Josh Giddey, who scored a career-high points as he pushed his team to try and get the win, ultimately falling short.
Josh Giddey’s 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists was his best ever total with the Bulls and a positive sign as he looks to develop into one of the league’s stars.
His performance was let down by one key aspect, responsible for 4 turnovers. It is an area of his game he must improve.
Former Chicago Bulls player Kendall Gill told the team’s post-game show he was encouraged by the good aspects of Giddey’s performance.
He said: “I thought he played well as well, because he did everything he was supposed to do, with the exception of sometimes turning over the basketball.
“And that’s the thing. You can have a great game, but it’s just those little turnovers, the little things that could cause a good game to turn the one where you have a defeat. That’s exactly what happened tonight.”
Zach LaVine scored 26 points and caused the Cavaliers real problems. It was his highest output since the 30 points game he contributed against the Grizzlies on October 29.
Gill liked what he saw, commenting: “I was very impressed with Zach’s skill level. Today, he showed you everything.
“He showed you pump fakes in, getting back on balance, knocking down jump shots. The one lay-up that he made late in the fourth quarter where he had to tap, and you didn’t know what type of shot he was going to shoot. You see this one right here, where he goes up over the big man defender right there, and then stops and pops.
“He’s back, man. He’s back to that All-Star level, which he was a couple years ago.”
